Sun Radio will be taking part in Giving Tuesday (December 1st), the annual global day of giving back to non-profts!

Considering being a Solar Panel member? Now’s the time! As an incentive to encourage new Solar Panel members on Giving Tuesday, Sun Radio is giving all new members who pledge to donate a monthly minimum of $15 (or more) or a one-time donation of $180 (or more), a $25 gift card to the following:

  • Mornings with Kevin Connor (6a-10a): Johnny G’s Meat Market
  • Middays with Suzanna Choffel (11a-3p): Greater Goods Coffee
  • Afternoons with Mark Murray (3p-7p): Sun Radio Support Pack (t-shirt, sticker, and neck gaiter)
  • Evenings with Ben Bethea (7p-10p): Guero’s Taco Bar

We are a mission facing not for profit community station that, despite the economic downturn of 2020, chose to continue to put our community, musicians, and green initiatives first.

This year alone, Sun Radio gifted hundreds Central Texas musicians grants to defray the costs of their electric bills through our Sun Radio Recharge program… an initiative we will continue for years to come. Through this program, Sun Radio also supported five community radio stations nationwide stay on-air. To learn more about our initiatives, visit The Sun Radio Foundation website.

Sun Radio is the largest solar-powered radio station in the world. In the past 12 months, Sun Radio has generated over 68,460 kilowatt-hours of solar powered energy… that saved the green-house gas equivalent of 120,109 miles driven and 5,447 gallons of gas.
