o In 2017, in honor of legendary rocker
Tom Petty, Sun Radio led the charge for the City Of Austin to declare by formal proclamation Oct. 20th officially Tom Petty Day in Austin, Texas. We succeeded, and 3 years later are still committed to honoring the late music legend. Tune in Tuesday, Oct. 20 for a full day of Tom Petty music (including tunes off the new ‘Wildflowers & All The Rest’ out on 10/16), plus local artist & listener memories, and more on Sun Radio. Use the SHOUT OUT feature on the free Sun Radio app (for iPhone & Android) to record a special Tom Petty memory & song request!

o In celebration of our new studio on Manchaca Rd., the week leading up to Halloween Sun Radio is hosting live, studio sessions featuring some of Central Texas’ most iconic artists, hosted by Suzanna Choffel each day 10/26-10/30 at noon. Listeners are invited to attend (virtually) as we broadcast on-air and online through the Sun Radio website and app. Each Monday & Friday beginning 10/5, we’ll announce a new artist that will be joining us in studio.

o Sun Radio’s Rock-toberfest month will conclude on Halloween! Tune in all of 10/31 for a spook-tastic variety of Halloween tunes to get you in the spirit of the holiday.

  • Why You Should Donate to Sun Radio
    • The financial support of our listeners and supporters enable Sun Radio to provide the world-class, programming you hear all day, every day. This year looks a little different for Sun Radio, as we are unable to hold our biggest fundraiser of the year, The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. If Sun Radio has been a companion to you this year and beyond, we are calling on our listeners to help continue supporting us this October by making a donation to keep the good times rolling. Donations can be made online at sunradio.com. If you support our eclectic music variety and mission facing initiatives to help Central Texas musicians, please support Sun Radio during the month of October.
